There is a small town, about 130 km far from Moscow.
There are a lot of unusual museums, like a smoothing-iron museum and museum of coin and etc.
Yes, I’m talking about Pereslavl.
It’s a very great old town, with old 2 floors buildings, made of wood.
It’s a place of Aleksandr Nevskiy birth.
But I’d like to tell you about another interesting thing - special museum!
For those who likes old machinery, smell of old iron and sure heavy fuel.
Let me introduce to you the lost outpost of civilization – The museum of a steam train.
This museum located about 10 km from Pereslavl, in a country-side.
It’s a world of crazy people, which prefer olden time things to a new one.
Which prefer fixing old things, to earning money.
It’s a part of true altruism. They do everything by own hands for own money.
They are independent.
Nobody invest to this project.
I told you they are crazy about old things!
They have a lot of interesting artifacts.
I think I’ll be close to truth, to tell that only in this place in Russia we can find men who can operate the steam train.
They have some steam trains in a condition – add fuel and GO!
They rescue a lot of trains from dark years of USSR crash.
In that time a lot of things were lost for us.
The ships and locomotive gone to the needles.
Insane time of Perestroyka…
So the guys, I don’t know how, but the save the part of our narrow gauge history.
Obeisance to them!

They are ofbeat folks!
You can park your car, and go to museum by the old GAZ (stylize for an old Dodge), or old big GAZ-63.

You can also rent a handcar there!
