Fred Goeske at Wheeladapter.com will make you a pair of the sweetest adapters you've ever seen...from your M416's 5x5.5" pattern 7/16" studs with that big honking bearing cap sticking out of the face to 5x5" pattern 1/2" studs and hubcentric face specifically for Jeep JK or just about anything you want. These things are like artwork and Fearless Fred is the best.

Interesting to actually see the spacers on the axle and then the end result. I like it, certainly an option.

A few questions:

what is the thickness on your spacers, and a rough cost?
How much back spacing can you get away with and still be ok with the tires not sticking out to far? I would not want to get to far out. I'm looking at 3.75 with mine.
What tires you end up going with?

It looks great.

For tires I'm just going to look for some used BFG AT in 225/75R16 and put them on the stock rims then call it a day.

Have you run with these tires before? I'm looking to re-tire the original rims for short term, but don't want the original Mil tires. I have seen mention of 235/85r16 and 215/85r16 from other threads. Some with tubes others without. What has been your experience?

Can you go into a little more detail on this extension? Looks like you cut the lunette welded it to a hitch tube and welded the other end into a receiver tube? Is this correct?

Yes I cut and Welded the Ends of the lunette into the hitch extinction. I then welded in the Ring to some 2x2 I have and drilled it to be adjustable. Ill like better Pics tonight.

Not with the BFG yet I have 225 Goodyear as/a for now and they work just fine.

They're out there, albeit a bit hard to locate one in good shape. Might want to join the M416 Yahoo Group, could be a good start.

How to you go about getting it licensed these days? I have one that I have had for years that I did some mods on and licensed it as a homemade trailer, these days you have to have them inspected to prove they are homemade to get them licensed .
