I don't know how many cars I have seen for sale that people don't even TRY to clean up. It just helps the sale immensely!!

I imagine the smell to be quite...well, you know...

That's worse (looking) than some Motel 6's I've stayed in (and slept in my clothes).
My OCD wouldn't allow me to even ride in it... :Wow1:

Not sure that I would agree with y'all above. Sure, the vehicle was not prepped for sale with tire shine, but it looks like a regular, real world well used overland vehicle to me, what you would come across somewhere on a hang-out in Marrakesh or Jaipur. Nothing wrong with that. I actually like that the owner put real pictures on the ad; "recently repainted" is for me about the biggest turn-off in a used car ad I can read. Base looks solid, price (buy it now) a little on the high side but that guy is entitled to try to get for it what he can.

BTW, how do you think Pinzgauers smell in the hands of the various European armed services using them? Trust me; after serving as temporary home for a week for a bunch of solders out in the field; they ain't no pretty sight. But they do clean out really well

I agree that a dirty vehicle doesn't mean anything, but there's far more to it than that. Look at those pictures. The guy can't even be troubled to cut the long tails off his wire ties. There's bodged stick-on weatherstripping everywhere, crudely made plywood doors, messy, homespun wiring, etc.

I bought a cruising sailboat like this once: a beautiful hull that someone had very inexpertly and crudely filled with dodgy cabinetry, tankage and wiring. Of course, it was good enough to sail to New Zealand and back, and in all fairness the guy actually sailed his boat rather than spending years piecing it all together. Still, I spent more time working on it than sailing it.

If the price were right and one were willing to take on a project....
