Poison Spyder D30 Diff Cover Project

Damaged the factory cover when I hung it on a rock and backed off. It peeled the bottom "lip" enough to cause a slow leak :Wow1:

After looking over all of the options out there I decided on the Poison Spyder cover. The thing ways a ton and I've had good experience with the fit and finish of their products in the past. They offer bare and powder coated versions, I opted to paint the bare option.

Here's a few pics of the paint process and I'll get a few more up when I finish the install. Pretty happy with the results!

Went with rattle can gloss red and flat black (shocks on the LJ are red and black 2015 Rubi take offs)

Started by spraying the red....

Taped off the raised Spyder emblem (spent way too much time with an Exacto knife)

Sprayed the flat black....

Let it cure over night and here it is....

How are the JK shocks on an LJ?

They're from a 2015 JKU Rubicon. Given the extra weight I haul they match up pretty well with the spring combo I'm working with and you can't beat free!

Only drawback is you have to get a bar pin eliminator kit for the fronts

That's a lot of work for something that gets banged up. But it looks great. Are you doing the front too? Did you get the gaskets or using sealant? I'm going to be adding these to my JKUR once I finish some work on the house my wife wants.

Really wasn't a whole lot of effort. The one you see is the D30 front and I've always had good luck using sealant vs gaskets
