New guy here... Just got done reading a long thread... I'm jealous of some of these trailers.
Anybody do mods to, or have experience with pop-up campers in the wild?
I've been "camping" is a lot of interesting places over the years.
My camping trips now are limited, as I sleep in the camper shell of my truck. Been off roading a long time, just getting into back woods expedition travel. Happy with the truck so far. She's big, but if she fits, she gets me there. I really want to get into this overland expedition hobby, but I only have one trailer...
Not really "trail ready".
I suppose I could use it, but looking to get a dedicated trailer or a Flip Pack. Seems a large percentage of you expedition guys are out west in dry areas. We live in Indiana, and had a bad experience with a rain storm a couple years back. (I thought it was funny) Wife wants something more substantial.
Anybody do mods to, or have experience with pop-up campers in the wild? My truck is too big for tight trails anyhow. Can't seem to get the wife into the whole "tent" idea. Anyhow, she wants a trailer with a solid floor and roof. I'm not wanting to put up a fight if it will get her out of the house. One issue we have is I'm partially disabled (I walk with a cane). I love the idea of the Flip Pack, and the roof top tents, but we both are big people. I'm 6'1" 265#, the wife is shorter, but heavier. Not sure up high is best for us.
