So I don't like the idea of caring the propane in my Jeep, so I decided to fab something up for outside carry.
I bought a used rugged ridge Off-Road Jack Mount, 07-10 Wrangler, Textured Black 11586.01, cut off the top brackets, and then got a 4x4 and a 1" piece of wood to set in where the jack would go. I used some conduit brackets to attach a 11lbs propane tank to the 1" piece of wood, and then used 2 long bolts to attach it to the 4x4 and the carrier. I looked for metal strap to attach to the carrier and around the tank, but couldn't find any so I am going to use some ratcheting straps for now, and wrap it behind the carrier to make sure it does not go anywhere. It is nice and tucked in behind the tire so I think it should be pretty safe. Still have some work on it but thought I would share. Open to improvement ideas as I continue.
