Pulling the trigger on an 05 LR3 HSE- things to look for?

Think I found my first rover. One owner 05 LR3 that is low mileage and too good a deal to pass up. I need to know what things to look for in an 05 LR3.

It's a one owner never off-road. The owner recently replaced all tires and the rear brakes. Vehicle has 55K. There are two issues outstanding - the susp sensor and boot latch are broken. What other things do I need to look out for? Also, any rover mechanics in GA care to help a fellow expo'er out? I'd like a keen set of eyes to take a good look and see if this is a buy or pass. PM me and I'll make it worth your while.

now I'm wondering if I should buy this stocker with 55K miles and build it up or buy the higher mileage one that rovertrader has that's already sorted...:smiley_drive:

05 saw the most issues of all LR3's. however if it is in daily use most of these should be sorted by now.

Ultra low mileage examples usually have low mileage for a reason. Make sure you find out what that reason was. The PO are So rich they could afford to buy a new LR and just use it on occasion? Or a total lemon that was untrusted?

Don't by scared by high mileage. The new V8's are much better than the old Rover V8.

Seller is in a swanky part of urban ATL so I'd imagine they are loaded and didnt drive it frequently. I'm calling the owner today so we shall see. There are some niggles with the boot latch switch and suspension sensor...

Interesting comment especially considering what was mentioned a few posts up from yours.

Buy this one. Known seller with stellar reputation.

service records on this one owner are all there. It was maintained by the LR dealership for the last 8 years and has a good history. I'm going to have a prepurchase inspection done and then build it out. :bike_rider:

Thanks for the kind words! I happen to know where a large selection of brand new Goodyear mtr tires for the 19s are so it doesn't even need wheels

If you're going to be posting statements like this you need to share with the rest of us ! That is if they are in the US.

I put a deal together on 20 of them but the end user doesn't plan on selling them. I could get a set just because I facilitated

Tyres don't last indefinitely. They are good for around 6 or maybe 7 years, even in storage.
Unless they have been recently manufactured I'd pass even if they were free. Just not worth the risk.

Having said that I do have a set of tubed bias plys on a series LR that are older than I am!!!!
