QT1 on the beach

I had been hesitant to take my QT1 WK on the beach since I have another (slightly) more capable Jeep but facing Labor Day weekend traffic and a long drive out to Nauset Beach on Cape Cod I decided to give it a try since the cabin is significantly more comfortable for a family of 4 than that of my KK on a long trip. The 3.7 WK is completely stock except for tow hooks and 245/70r17 Cooper AT3 tires. With the tires aired down to 14psi, ESP full off, and in 1st gear we had absolutely no issues and went everywhere we wanted to go even though the sand was deep and dry. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and with a little more ground clearance it will make a great beach cruiser. I thought I'd post here since I've read a lot of mixed reviews of the QT1 performance in sand on other Jeep forums. My guess is those having issues either didn't air down enough or left the ESP on.

We also averaged nearly 19mpg even with a lot of beach driving and traffic and a decent load.
