Question about sandblasted alloy wheels.

I saw an ad on Craigslist for 4 land cruiser wheels that are and blasted. Seller is asking $350.
1st question is if this is a decent price? Or should I wait for another set to show up.
2nd question is if the wheels are sandblasted, when I paint them, will there be an odd texture left on the finish wheel?
I read some where that sand blasting wasn't preferred with aluminum.
Thanks
Jason

I wouldn't know about the value of anything that modern (real Cruiser wheels are steel :) ).

Media blasting aluminum is a matter of personal taste; personally I much prefer (glass) bead blasting over sand blasting.

I media blast on a daily basis and have blasted those exact same wheels for a Tacoma. I would say that the texture in the pic would be from glass media after I blasted the wheels I primed them with a good epoxy primer and topcoated with flat black poly. No texture from the blasting showed after.

The only real problem with blasting aluminum with an abrasive media is it opens up the grains in the aluminum for corrosion to enter.

I've sand blasted steel and aluminum wheels more than a few times. As Rdrash says, a good primer and a coat or two of color and they'll look awesome!
