question about tires....

i have a disco 2 and wanting to put some 245/75/16r on it. would it fit on my disco 2 while it's stock...? or should i get the springs/shocks first?

the reason i'm thinking of getting the tires first because my inspection is almost up and i need new tires to pass...but i can't buy the shock and tires at the same time....

thanks.

Those are 30.4" overall diameter so I think you could probably pull off running them for street driving until you get a lift, but I can't say for sure.

Sure. Why not? That's a great size for Rovers. I have them on my 96 Disco and have been able to go everywhere I've wanted to off road. They are basically the diameter of those on the Camel Trophy Rovers. They go a lot better than 32+ tall tires with stock gearing. If your shocks still have a little life left, you don't need any right now. I'm running my stock springs with some spring isolators to give a little lift and they work perfectly off road. More flexy than a spring lift, and a nicer ride. Rovers really don't need a hell of a lot of upgrades to go well off road other than some decent tires.

You might have to adjust your steering stops a little to keep them off the radius arms on one side. I had to do that on mine to run them on the stock suspension, but that was on a D1. Don't know if it's different for a D2?
