I was thinking to get a Landcruiser 80 but i had a few questions first.
Can you increase the tire size without lifting the rig?
How expensive is it to get a 3" lift?

Thank you as i said im a total noob

Welcome.

You can fit 33s just fine without a lift....

A 2.5 inch kit typically runs between 800-900 complete. I'd recommend Cruiser Outfitters for that. Discuss with Kurt your plans for future modifications (bumpers, winch, sliders, drawers etc) and listen to his recommendation.

I currently have the OME "heavy" lift that is designed to provide 2.5 inches of lift with up to an extra 250 lbs. of weight up front and 440 extra pounds in the rear.

I am running 33s, an ARB bull bar, Warn 8274, Hanna Quality sliders, and no extra rear bumper. I did just buy a set of 25mm spring spacers to bring the front back up a little as the winch/bumper combo is >250 lbs.

Here is a pictorial evolution of my 80.....

If you want a cheap and slow 3FE powered 80 get a 90-91. If you the more powerful 1FZ-FE, and the potential to get one with factory front and rear differentials, get a 93-94. If you want all the 93-4 provides plus air bags, get a 95-97.

If i did put 33s in it without any lift, wouldnt there be clearance issues in the trail?

Not wheel to fender. Just rocker to rock....

He did the entire Smiley Rock trail no problem except bumping his running boards and he would not have had damage without the boards on. 33s no lift.

I always run BFGs. On an 80 you should get 5 because the 80 is full time 4wd. expect to pay ~200 per tire and then mounting, tax, disposal.....probably ~1150 for 5.

:iagree: Die-Hard BFG owner here! I have access to damn near every tire on the market...if it is a daily driver or travel vehicle, nothing beats the road manners & off-road performance of a BFG.

If you shop around you can pick up OME mediums cheap for cheap, somebody is always up-grading. I spent almost as much on shipping for my OME mediums as I did for the springs.

I was a BFG guy for many years but went with the Toyo MTR's for my 100 because of the thicker side wall. So far I am very impressed with the performance offroad as well as in ice and snow. On the road they are stiff and loud, I like that but everybody has their own preference. I found that, combined with the OME springs, they made the IMHO too mushy ride on my UZJ100 much more truck like. BFG's have a more car like ride.Time will tell if the Toyos wear as well as the BFG.

Sliders are are an ASAP item, they are tough to build from scratch for an 80 so I would go with pre-fabbed ones.
