Question on steel thickness?

I'm wondering what the most appropriate thickness of steel would be for the frame of a standard 4x8 trailer?
It will have a 3500lb axle, on leaf springs, and I'm aiming at 500-600 pounds empty/dry, with a loaded weight of up to 2000 lbs. The main tube from front to rear will be 3"x3" with 2.5"x2.5" branching off of it to make up the base portion of the frame. Upright sides (24" high) will be smaller, probably 1.5".

It will carry heavier loads on pavement - building supplies etc.
Lighter loads on the trail; camping gear weighs less than drywall. :)

Sorry about this abbreviated post, I had a longer one typed out with more information but my browser froze and I'm not feeling inclined to try and type that all out again... grrrr...

EDIT: And I'm looking for wall thickness of the tube.
