Quick Moab Trip

Took last Friday off from work and spent some time down in Moab on two and four wheels exploring the area.

Kane Creek - Hurrah Pass to Chicken Corners

Chicken Corners and end of the road.

The view from around the corner.

Saturday I returned to arches National Park to hike a few more trails - got there early to avoid traffic. A lot more peaceful.

The arch is at the far right of the photo.

By the time I got down fooling around in arches the rain had picked up and I decided to head back to my cabin (Moab RV and Resort) to wait out the rain.

The rain let up around 100 pm so it was time to head back out to mountain bike Slickrock trail - first time mountain biking Moab. These are all cell phone photos

The LaSal Mountains

The white dash line shows you where the trail is at.

I ended up wrecking shortly after the last photo in part due to my own stupid mistake and someone who decided to stop right in the middle of the trail to change tops. The end result - a nice small dent in my helmet.

After biking Slickrock trail I was done for the day and just went back to the cabin to relax.

Sunday the plan was to drive Shaffer Trail switchbacks and from what I could tell from the website it was open. Needless, to say when I towards the end the road was closed. Bummer. Least I got to see the otherside of the river and the views from along Potash road.

The end of the road.

I plan on going back to try the switchbacks again and to bike Slickrock trail again this time without wrecking. :bike_rider:

Cool pictures, good thing you had the helmet, might have been ticketed for damaging the rocks.:) thanks for posting.
