I took my dog Zeus and myself to a little section of the Smokies called Greenbriar in Gatlinburg, TN the other day since its right in my back yard. I had just moved back to the area, and was itching to get into the mountains. It was a bit rainy and cold, but I was just fine with that, as it kept the tourist activity to a minimum. Here are some pics...

Throughout the forrest, there are these little fields of moss covered rocks, and the pictures just dont do it justice...its really cool looking.

GSMNP has always been a favorite of mine, the west has it's wide open spaces, but the east has the Smokies and all the beauty they contain. Nice report, it brings back memories of several trips there. Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed! I love the west as well, but the diversity of the Smokies is unrivaled if you ask me.
