RAM Cup Holder Mount for iPad

I'm torn between using a windshield iPad mount or the cup holder mount, both made by RAM. I'd like to keep my windshield clear so would appreciate any advice folks have about their use of the cup holder mount. I'm interested in stability and ease of changing the alignment from driver's sight line to passenger sight line while on the move.

I mounted my iPad to the dash with a ram mount posted in another thread. I can't comment on either of the mounts you mentioned. However, I have two other suction cup ram mounts and I can tell you they work great. The suction always stays. I've never had one fall off even on hot days when I've had others fail. Good luck!

I used a RAM mount with a suction cup for my GPS for several years and only had it fall off when the temperature dropped below 35-40*. I only stopped the suction cup base because I installed Vector Offroad's JKE-Dock to the dash and clamp my electronics, including an iPad, with RAM products to the bar. No issues.

EDIT: My bad. For some reason i was thinking a Jeep JK but the OP has a Ford Expedition which has a completely different interior.

I have used the Ram-a-can mount that fits in a cup holder. It is very strong and works great. Also makes it easy to swap between vehicles. You can swivel it side to side as well as up and down. I would definitely recommend this product.
