Ever seen one of these before? This is a Traka, which is based on a Range Rover Classic. Quite the cool conversion. I think this might be the only one in North America (belongs to Mule Expedition Outfitters). Quite the cool little buggy.

That thing's awesome! Seems to be a far stretch from a RRC and it seems it would be easier to start from scratch for something that crazy, but it is certainly cool. I'd love to see some progress pictures from a build to see how extensive the conversion is.

I think I'd rather do a Bowler/Tomcat but it is sweet.

As far as starting from scratch-maybe. Having the opportunity take some RRC's down to just the running gear of late I'd say it is nice to have that already proven and somewhat dialed in (weight change notwithstanding) to build off of.
Some of the things we're playing with:

Going to build out the back of this rusted up LWB to make it more utilitarian. Put a cage inside it coming out the soon to be walled off c pillar area to the small bed now created.

This one, which had rolled, will be far closer to a Traka-esque platform when her turn comes...

This one, which had terminal rust and sustained some damage from an incident while building trails is now a running skeleton that allows people to see the full soup to nuts aspects of a coil sprung/solid axle truck.
