Extremely Rare!
This is 1 of 2 SWB 463 Factory 300GD Diesel G Wagens in the USA
Much like a current "worker" or 461 Gwagen as featured in Overland Journal these series G's combine the best of the modern 463 drivetrain with the more basic and spartan interior and feature sets of the military and true adventure Gs.
It is the only one with manual 5-speed transmission!!
This G is 1 of 5 in USA (LWB or SWB) with OM603 NA 6 cylinder diesel motor from the factory (the other 3 are LWB).
It gets a remarkable 22-24 mpg. No other Gwagen, diesel or petrol gets this fuel economy thanks to the motor and ultra rare 5-spd manual gearbox which shifts smooth and perfectly.
5.29:1 Axles / Differentials also extremely rare. Most all 463s have a 4.3 or 4.4:1 ratio
Actual Original Miles are 89,840 miles or 149,700 kilometers
White Exterior with Black Trim, Black Flares, and Black Factory Tow Pin Front Bumper / 463 Rear Bumper
Borbet G-Klasse Wheels, Painted Black
Factory New Mercedes-Behr Radiator 500 miles ago ($1,400!)
Schmude type ABS Intake Snorkel for Offroad Water Fording, and Cool Intake Air Stream for Diesel
Intake Breather Snorkel on Alternator (Bosch) with recently replaced regulator
New Interstate Battery
A/C System (factory original, not aftermarket)
Oris Trailer Hitch and Wiring for Pollak round plug and also 4 pin straight trailer wire plug
Rear Hella Work Flood Light
Front Hella Fog Lights on Bumper, and factory Bosch Driving Lights in Bumper
Rear Fog Light (factory)
33" Interco TSL Swamper Tires with 85% tread, evenly worn
Factory White Stripe Spring Suspension, gives vehicle a subtle 2" lift over stock
Power Windows
Aftermarket Power Door Locks with Keyless Remote Control
Sunroof (dual mode)
No accidents, straight body, no bondo or filler, excellent body condition!!
Light Tint on windows
And the coolest rare feature (in my opinion) is the B6 Mercedes Factory Spare Tire Fuel Can!
Condition:
The vehicle has been stored by a collector customer of mine for the past couple of years.
Recently I purchased another one of his G diesels, and this one was offered to repair (new radiator) and get out of storage, and flush out.
I have driven the vehicle 500 miles since the radiator replacement, and have tested the functions on the car.
Please realize It is a 22 year old vehicle, so don't expect "as-new" condition....but has very low miles and shows pride of ownership.
Car has not been smoked in, ashtrays appear to be never used, and there are no burn marks on anything.
Clutch feels great, shifting perfect.
Shifting into low range and back to high works perfect
No strange driveline vibrations felt
Car starts up immediately.
When driving the car hard, there is no excessive smoke out the exhaust or blow-by from the valve cover
The car does need a few things to be "perfect":
(it runs fine and is very reliable as it sits)
The exhaust system has a hole, I can get this repaired if purchaser would like for $400 additional over sale price.
It runs fine as is, and you can only tell when you really rev up the engine to over 4,000 rpm or so.
The stereo system is not hooked up to the antennae, so although it works, you get static in the radio.
The rear seat, when you fold it up, has one fastener missing, does not affect safety of the seat or function.
The little indicator lights for the diff locks: The orange ones work, the red ones don't.... but the lockers are working fine, and actuate as well as disengage as they should. We have tested them off-road.
Other than general nicks, small ding in lower part of passenger door, and a few minor scuffs here and there, the car presents very well. See all the photos including under the vehicle and also under the floor mats.
This car's asking price is $32,000.
The car will sell to the highest offer.
Please send your offer for our review if you would like to purchase the vehicle.
I welcome you to come inspect it in person and to drive it.
The vehicle is titled in Texas, but located at my shop in California, safely stored.
