Rear View Mirrors for 1st Gen Toyota 4x4

I am building a 1983 Toyota truck, my first 1st gen Toyota truck. I am amazed at how hard it is to find parts for this truck. A lot of the parts are NLA from the dealer. Anyway, I need door mirrors for it and I can't decide which way to go. For the record, I am using doors from a 2wd truck that have no wing windows and I do not want to use the "RV" style mirrors, something tidy and small would be nice.

Does anybody have any opinions? How about pics?

I would check out the local boneyards, or search on Ebay. I'm always amazed at the availability of obscure parts on Ebay.

go to autozone and pick up some generic side mirrors, they have some decent ones that are for chevy cars that are small and clean looking

That's what I was thinking. I don't necessarily want OEM mirrors. Auto parts store mirrors probably aren't up to my quality standards, but it's worth a look.

If guys had pics to show, it would be nice to see the different options.

Pic n pull junk yards or ebay. Rockauto has some stuff but like you said its hard to find some parts, makes it fun though!

You're absolutely right. Hunting for parts can be a lot of fun. I am at the stage in the project where I have grown tired of clicking the "place order" button !!! I wish the wrecking yards weren't so far away from me or I would be there more often.

I personally like the JDM (I hate using that term) fender mirrors. I imagine they would get torn off rather quickly on the trail though.

If anyone has any more suggestions on a specific mirror that fits and looks good, I would really appreciate it.

I think my friend used 3rd gen pickup mirrors on his. They look fine.

Awesome. Just the kind of input I was fishing for. I just looked at them online and they look like they will be an easy fit. They are much easier to find too.

I am a first-time first-gen owner so this type of stuff has not made it into my data banks yet...!
