recomdations for android GPS Apps

I have a samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1 I would like to start using this in my adventuring but i have noticed if i am not tethered for data the mapping software will not work so anyone know of a real mapping solution

I have Navfree (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.navfree.android.OSM.ALL) on my phone, it's offline Navigation app for road navigation. Has maps for lot of countries. I keep it as a backup for my Garmin. It's probably not the best one but it works and it's free.
