recommendations for off road lights

I have been pondering putting some off road lights on the Jeep, I don't want to spend a fortune for these things. I like the little cube lights that can mount to the the windshield or the front bumper. So what do you recommend. I want to go with a combination of flood and spot. so what can you recommend > Ideally i would like to stay under a $100 thoughts?

I know it's not what you asked, but, why not upgrade your headlamps? There in the best possible location and you use them all the time. Accessory lighting is used pretty rarely once the novelty wears off.

Couldn't agree more, I sold my bright OffRoad lights due to lack of use. Set of truck light led headlights would be best, just not cheap.

But to answer your question check Amazon brand called NiLight $20 set and work great.

KC halogen slim-lites for ~100 in ebay. in hindsight i wish I would have just upgraded my headlights as I prefer the stock look more, but maybe ill eat my words later.

Buddha.

Finally in expo white.
I've said it before, if I had a vehicle that accepted a pair of truck lites or similar thats what i would run. I do like my 100w hellas though. Still trying to figure out how to mount them on the subaru.

I run KCs on the road. I think they're slimlights, not sure. I do know they are fully DOT legal and in the country where streetlights don't exist they're a life saver. I have the driving beams in the stock foglight position, they shoot just in front of the headlight beams and are the same color as the stock headlights. They're halogens too, no worries about ice buildup, and they come with a really nice wiring harness and warranty.

actually you are right when I got to thinking about it and posting elsewhere I included that as well. so the big question is how with just bulbs? or the whole light and cost. because cost is an issue that I don't want to spend a lot of cash on.

How much high speed off road driving ?

That is not what I anthem for I don't go fast off road fast = breakage. But I do get stuck late on some trails where a nice combination set would be a benefit. But as you said not a lot so I don't want to spend a lot.

Everybody and their mother sells LED offroad lights these days it seems. LED pods and bars can be cheap and effective, but arent all DOT legal, and that goes the same for cheap headlight upgrades. Please make sure you are buying DOT legal lights not because of the law but because its the difference in blinding everyone else on the road, or seeing better and them seeing you. I've been looking at Rampage headlight upgrades (glass housing, and not LED), which are cheap, but if you want something simpler, both GE and Trucklight offer good options. I figure with my luck, Id spend 400plus on new headlights and a rock would take one out the next week.

I run led foglights right now, and they are not DOT legal and aren't very good for others, but I point them down very low so as to not blind everyone, and I keep that in check. I'm no worse than those dang kids in their lifted chevy trucks with stock lights aimed incorrectly. But do as I say, not as I do. Right?

So check amazon, check WickedBilt, check Rigid, and outlawled, auxbeam, and more. All provide good led lighting, but there are so many options you will just have to make a choice. And you can always get that transparent vinyl to use as a fog lense. Or plastic lense covers in different colors. Either way.

Don't overthink this. You can try out 10 different generic manufacturers for the price of one premium set. Just check the reviews and grab something.

I ended up with a set of Cibie housings and Hella lamps with a relay kit so they run at full battery voltage. Picked up the whole thing used for $85.
The high beam is excellent, and the low beam is great. Replacement bulbs are cheap.

I've also seen 1st gen Speakers going for $100 each. Everyone who bought them raved about them, until the next LED du jour showed up.
So don't be afraid to go used as well. That can be a big savings.
