Question: I just noticed that other then my trailer hitch, there are no other recovery points, not front, not on the back... Where on earth do others attach recovery gear?

Cheers

Liberties have the capability to have two factory recovery hooks on the front, attached to the frame, but not all Libbies came with them. You can buy then through Chrysler or scan the forums for someone who slod them after putting a shackle modification on there or an aftermarket bumper (like I did).

For used good place to start is LOSTJEEPs or JeepKJ , check the For Sale section, people are selling them all the time pretty much when they upgrade

If I wasn't running the Rocklizard front bumper I would have done this....

so i got this front hitch in the other day for a YJ/TJ. thinking it was for one of them, i thought iasnt gonna fir, but i was wrong. it took a buddy of mine and me about an hour to take and install everything. had to drill 2 hole in the frame (so called) for the rear holes of the hitch. but other then that from left to right the holes fit well. but i did have to hack the hell out of the bumper, but oh well.

Better approch angle than the KJ specifc front hitches. Hooks are scary and dangerous for recovery points, and the OEM hook mounting system makes them even more frightning!

My fiancee's '06 doesn't have any front tow points either, and it kills me. I designed some shackle brackets for it, but still haven't made any. Anyone have a water jet cutter and some 1/4" and 3/8" or 1/2" steel? :)

The OE tow hook brackets are expensive, and the tow hooks are kinda funky. I think the best setup going is the Backbone that Detour is selling.
But it's pretty pricey considering her lib is never getting a winch.

And to quickly hop on my soapbox, I'll say that I find it disgusting that JEEP, the icon offroad brand, always made you pay for tow hooks on everything they made, while GM put hooks on ALL 4wd S-trucks standard most of that same time. IMO, the lack of standard tow points is a total fail for Jeep.
Hopping down now...

All kinds of different things you can do depending on $$$
From the Matrix brush guard which has excellent points for recovery to the Detours winch mount and then Rock Lizard and ARB bumpers etc

GMs need the tow hooks since you're always pulling them out:Wow1::coffeedrink:

That a very nice set up! With this I could keep the hook I'm using at the rear.
