I just bought a 1991 Sunline C951 this last weekend. It is in excellent shape but needs a new cooling unit or a new fridge. Although it is 2300#'s, my 2008 F250 doesn't know it is back there.
It has a Dometic RM2410 AC/LP. I can get a reman cooling unit for around $400. It is a 4.5 cu.ft. model. The camper does not have a battery bank, but I plan to add one and some solar panels because this rig will be used dry most of the time. Should I replace the cooling unit or should I upgrade to a 3-way fridge (AC/DC/LP)? My concern is I don't want to run out of LP and I want to be able to run the fridge while driving. I'm also pretty sure I can get a 5.5 cu.ft. Norcold 3-way in the space of the Dometic, with some cutting of course.
