Rei Camp dome 6?

Anything REI is a great product with an even better return policy. But also look at REI Outlet for the Alps Mountaineering brand tents, we have had one for a few years and works great.

yes. I bought a tent online @ REI-Outlet. Used it once. Wasn't what I was looking for. Returned to my local store for a full refund

Have the exact same tent for the last 7 years- love it!!
great in all weather including some heavy rain storms-easy to set up and airy when hot.

In your same price range, I am very happy with Kelty Green River 4. Good size, with a lot of stand-up-inside-to put-your-pants-on convenience.

The large vestibule (built into the fly, so you can't have one without the other, and vice versa) is really nice, IMO. It extends several feet from the tent entrance. For a footprint, I use a tarp that extends ~2 feet into the vestibule (it's a 10x10 tent, so I have a 10x24 tarp that I fold in half making it 10x12). So, there are three "levels" of cleanliness: (1) in the vestibule, but no tarp (dirt floor); (2) in the vestibule, but with a tarp floor; and (3) in the tent itself.
Works for me, very well.

Hey Rockhead, keep an eye on the for sale section on here, I'm going to be listing a bunch of tents soon that may catch your attention.

The Camp Dome is okay, and REI stuff in general is pretty good, but there are better all weather tents available. I really like the REI Base Camp tents. Its a significant step up in all weather durability, but you'd need to shop used to stay under $200. I saw one listed here on ExPo a few weeks ago.

I have the Kelty Green River 4 as well. It's very well made, sealed, goes up pretty quick but not a 4 season tent. It is very tall and I can stand up with out a problem. My only complaint is the vestibule rain flap don't zip they just have a few tie downs but don't really seal.

I used the same basic idea for the footprint / dirt tarp.

We've slept 4 adults in it before... it's tight and there is room for gear on the 'porch' but it's not ideal.
