Relocate sink/stove?

So i've had my truck for less than a month now and have enjoyed every minute in it. Next spring is a full interior upgrade/update, its a 79, straight out from 79. Has anyone ever moved their stove and or sink to another wall? Is is worth it? I dont see it as too much of a problem, just changing some plumbing? Any help is appreciated! Pictures are much better than words...

This is the floor plan i currently have.

This is basically what i want to convert my floor plan to.

So yes, i want to relocate the stove/sink from the front of passenger side, to the rear of the drivers side. Just curious on how much of a pain in the *** its going to be?

It depends on your skill set. If you are confident putting a new kitchen in your house, this should be fairly simple. If the thought of changing a faucet scares the crap out of you, it might be beyond your abilities.

My main question is why? It seems like re-inventing the wheel. If you upgrade what you have in place, it will be far easier, and cheaper too. The cab is open to your camper, right? That is likely going to make it a challenge to run drains, water lines, gas lines etc from where they are now, to the other side.

I am currently doing a complete in and out reno-mod on a 26' Airstream/Argosy trailer. While I am replacing everything with new pieces, the main layout is staying similar. That way I can just replace things, instead of completely redesigning all the systems. I have the tools and skills to do it all from scratch, but the rewards aren't there for me.

I'm pretty handy with my tools, and not scared of much when it comes to wrenching on things. I am interested in changing up my floor plan to accommodate better seating for traveling, as well as more sleeping area's. I've never been a fan of dinettes personally, and i feel that i can free up quite a bit of room inside my rig as i will never use the oven, dual sink, or the fridge that are currently in there. I will do most of the cooking outside on a grill, so i can get away with just a 2 burner range, and a small sink. I think i/we can get along quite well and easier with an ARB fridge as well. Its already pretty roomy inside, but i feel that with renovating the floor plan i can open the interior up even more.

I guess it just really depends on how the gas/water lines are routed, and i wont know about that until the spring. Just figured id ask to get some input first. Thank you for the help!

for your purpose, the layout change makes sense. even if you run things twice, it's only 8' of material.

have you considered lightening the color scheme? i think that would make the inside appear bigger.

I like where you are heading with this. We have a Holiday Travel Trailer that just got the kitchen area revamped this summer. Took out the 3 burner stove/oven combo that was falling apart and dropped a two burner stove-top into a new butcher-block counter-top that replaced the old particle board/formica top that had seen better decades. While I was at it I also cut in a nice new 17" diameter sink to replace the bar sink that was there. The new sink lets me lay dirty dishes down flat and I only have to put in 2" of hot water to let them soak and clean themselves. We don't have running water inside so there is no tap. I heat up hot water outside on a coleman 2 burner or the fire as needed. The grey water drains into a 2 gallon pail outside that gets dumped as needed. The dark paneling was painted an off-white before we bought the trailer so it looks nicer than a typical 1970's travel trailer.:coffee:

So i've spent the day going through my rig, seeing how everything is set up/lines ran. It should be a relatively easy interior redesign, especially now that i have decided to nix the wet bath that it currently has. I'll retain the toilet and then possibly add an outside shower.

Yeah, i am pretty stoked and excited for this rig and all of its possibilities... I really cant wait to drop an 12v Cummins in her, but that will certainly take a while to save up my pennies lol
