Replacement Seats

Just picked up a really clean, amazing u1300 ambo as the basis for a camper conversion. The previous owner had cut out the original seat frame and mounted in a seat from a landcruiser, which was less than ideal. We'd like to replace the drivers seat and then replace the passenger side with a bench seat.

And suggestions on brands, arrangements etc? Model #s, pics super appreciated!

I was about to offer the bench seat I removed from my Mercedes Vario until I noticed you're in the US. Shipping would probably be significantly more than the seat is worth!

first off, Congrats!

Second - we stuck with an original bench seat, and we are sorry. We do like it, and it's comfy enough, but a single seat with storage between the 2 would have been a better choice for us.

to get the seats, take a look over on the unimog forum on benzworld, a few US suppliers are on there, along with quite a few folks that could advise you better than most.

my mercedes truck came fitted with Isringhausen air seats for the driver and passenger and they're great. They're very adjustable and can be made comfortable for people of all weights and shapes. They are not luxurious like Winnebago captains seats or range rovers but the adjustable damping and weight compensations means they absorb shocks well and give great support. Worth a look

I fitted Isringhausen seats, commonly found in Sprinter vans here in the US. They are easy to find, and are very comfortable, and the best part is they look at home in the Unimog.
