Replacing front CV axles, question about removing

Hi all, been awhile finally around to replacing the front axles. I just popped the old one out, is there anything (like some kind of retainer clip) that would have came off inside the front Diff that I should be worried about?

the new one has a ring on the end, I just banged (gently) that one in and it seemed to go into place right away? :snorkel:

I'm Getting Around To It
There should be a circular clip riding in the groove on the inboard side of at least the driver's side shaft. Can't remember if the passenger side has one too, but I think it does. If the old one didn't come out with the ring on it, you might just want to remove the differential cover and see if it's laying inside somewhere since popping in the new shaft may have pushed it into the case. If you don't find one, the ring and pinion may turn it into tiny little pieces eventually.
