Whether a fan of JK-Forum or not, bow your head with me and say goodbye to Ken Offerbeck, a senior moderator on that forum; he lost his heroic battle with cancer yesterday.

http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread....e-good-news-to-share-Rest-in-Peace-12-27-2011

Ken was one of my cancer-buddies while I fought mine. He guided me, made me laugh, helped me see what was important.

There's a sort of guilt that cancer survivors have. We see so much death, so much suffering. Our own suffering seems trivial...

Godspeed, Ken; we'll miss you.

Sad -

We have all been so affected by this disease, the young and the old both - no one is immune. If anything, it reminds us to live each day to the fullest. You never know what tomorrow will hold.

Yes I saw this on JK-Forum last night, thank you for bringing this up here as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with him. I was always so astonished how open and public he was about his very personal battle. He was a stronger man than I am. May he now rest in peace.

Having had the loss of 3 family members to cancer I feel for the family and friends, to the ones that beat it I give them a badge of courage and thank them for showing others it can be done.

I wish his family strength to get through this. Scott, thank you for your words of wisdom - so well put as others have already mentioned.

May he find trails to ride and enjoy wherever he roams now....

Dang- it is just so sad that someone cannot find a cure for this freakin' disease.
I lost two very close friends diagnosed in October- and both died in the last three weeks. It has been a rough go and now to read of Ken right here at Christmas and with a wife and daughter.
I will pray for the family tonight!

I don't know him but his family will be in my prayers tonight. I lost a niece 9 days before her 8th birthday and 2 aunts to cancer, it affects us all. I had a scare myself over the summer when I discovered a lump in a certain area, turned out to be a swollen lymph-node but had my anxiety level up.
