Rock Slide Rack & RotoPax Weight (advice sought)

Afternoon,

I am currently looking to get the Rock Slide EZ rack kit and pair it with 2x Rotopax fuel tanks (thinking 3 gallons).

I am a bit concerned about the weight on the spare tire holder, but haven’t seen any advice on this point. I have a 2019 JLU rubicon and still have the stock tires. JLU came with Mopar binge reinforcement.

Should I be concerned about the weight of all that fuel on the back wheel? Should I be thinking of something else?

I've ran the RS kit with a pair of jerry cans on it with about 4 gallons each on my JKU so you should be good to go with the JL. If I recall the JL has an upgraded hinge system too. Figure about 6'ish pounds per gallon of gas (changes weight with temp) plus the weight of the buckle and brackets.

You'll want to deflate the spare, tighten the strap and then reflate the spare to get a good tight fit as it will want to slide off eventaully. I'm trying to make up a top strap to help this but that will be this winter

That's a good idea. I was thinking of buying the AEV fuel can for my JKU but I could run jerry cans instead and be able to carry fuel or water!
