Bought 1997 ford f150 4x4 used. Previous owner says that he put in 7 transmissions. I have had transmission rebuilt 3 times. Does computer in truck have anything to do with transmisson?

Ford combines computer control of transmission and engine into the power train control module, or PCM. I think the PCM was used as far back as 1993.

The shifting of transmission works fine until fluid blows out to make it start slipping in OD. Would PCM module make it do that, something is making the fluid blow out at the flywheel. Thank you for your response.

Time for a better truck shop.

I can even make Dodge trannys decent with a good rebuild. A 97 F150 should be childs play, no way they eat 10 transmissions in a life time even with crazy towing and offroading.

Fluid blow out at flywheel? Front seal or pump failure? Bad torque convertor? O-ring. Could be many things. But sounds like an easy fix, unless it's been slipping and cooked again.
