Roof rack custom build option

I am working with Bearclawbumpers.com to build a roof rack for over my 2005 Silverado crew cab with a separate section over my commercial Knapheide topper/camper. The two would be on the same horizontal plane. The rear section over the commercial cap would serve as the platform for a roof top tent (to be named later). The front section would be for extra hauling space if needed. There will be light tabs and recovery tool mounts (not sure where yet on the tool mounts).

Brian has come up with this mounting solution and I was looking for input for those who have "gone before"! lol



Here is a shot of the rack prototype... thoughts or comments?

The design looks a little overly fancy. Too many perimeter small tubes. Less tubing and some expanded metal flooring. I like the mesh design type floors better. This way small items don't fall between supports and if something shifts it won't slip between or cant...also the mesh more evenly supports the bottom of your containers. The design doesn't show how big, or the placement on the trucks/toppers roof, of where the feet go. The more the better, the bigger the better and closer to the edges of the roof will provide the most durability without bending/fatiguing the top. I love gutter mounts for this sort of thing but you don't have that sort of option. In this photo the rack has 30 gals gas/ firewood and a big trash bag on it.
