Any out there or do I have to get one that measures up?

We have a Front Runner rack concept arriving this week. We have all the pieces here, but haven't tried them yet. More on that soon. The set up is a set of track mounting to the OEM rack mounting points, a set of feet mounted to the track, and then a traditional Front Runner style rack mounted to the feet. I'll let you know when we have tried it out.

Cheers,

There's a couple of guys on Tacoma World who have modded a factory rack to fit an AccessCab. They looked pretty cool but I'd rather have brackets that mounted in the factory points and use a Yakima or other rack myself. The Front Runner idea sounds really nice- just wish they were reasonably priced.

Roof baskets?

I have just the SR5 model, I do not think I have anything on top to mount anything, how will I go about mounting a basket up top?

There have also been a few custom made ones. I have plans and will be making a custom one once I get my hands on a 3/4" and 1" die and bender for a few days.

On the 2005+ you can pull the rubber molding up and there are holes for mounting part of the factory rack. IIRC, one of the rear holes isn't drilled or something like that.

On the access cab, there are no holes from the factory, that is only on the double cab. For the access cab, you will need to drill holes and install some blind nuts.

I am using q towers and a load warrior. works well and the price is A LOT better than others. fits ski and bike mounts. you can mount their tracks and get a little lower profile. sorry, but no pics. no camera yet. paid less than $200 for the whole setup used.

It's been quite a while since I looked at those threads but I went back and you're correct. In the pictures one of the guys posted it looked like the roof has some molded in areas that define where it fits in the front (??? not sure I looked at his pics right) but not the back? I've never pulled up my molding so I can't rightly say. No matter what it requires modding the rack; I'd have it tig'd instead of epoxying it like he did though.

It didn't look too hard to do and I know fastener technology has gotten better. My truck's not worth that much anymore, I'd be willing to give it a go if there were some good looking brackets available. :sombrero:
