Roof top tent weight.

I am considering buying a used James Baroud Grand Raid XXl to use with my fifth gen 4Runner. Anybody have experience with with this large of a RTT. My 4Runner is a stock Trail with kdss. I routinely carry a 120 pounds of kayaks up top but this tent is listed at 170 pounds hence my concern.thanks for any feedback.

I have a Grand Raid XXL. It's sits on a 60 series Land Cruiser and I literally don't know it's up there when driving. This is a nice tent and I'm glad I bought it. Lot's of room for two adult and a KDSS or two.

I've carried 200lb on the roof of my Trail with KDSS for thousands of miles. Other than the wind noise and sloshing sound of fuel/water, can't tell it's up there.

I have a 2016 4Runner Trail w/ KDSS too. I added a FrontRunner slimline II rack and was debating between the James Baroud Grand Raid vs the Alu Cab gen III. I like how the JB has more space and the 360 views, but also like how the AC looks and can strap my kayaks and surfboards on top. What do you guys think?

I've owned a JB and have seen the AluCab Gen III in person. AluCab is the way to go, without a doubt; much better product all around.
