Round peg in a square hole

I finished my :snorkel: install finally.:wings: I thought I'd post some pics of how I made the gen III snorkel fit the gen II.5 air box.

Here is a pic of what I will call the mid pipe in place. This requred removal of the fender. The hole at the air box had to be made larger and some sheet metal at the opposite end be removed.

Do I REALLY want to do this???

Gap at leading edge, not sure what to do about this, if anything.

Air box with the stock connecting tube removed. These ribbs will need to get dremeled off.

Next attached a 3/32" thick plate of ABS plastic from TAP plastics on to close up the stock hole.

Now I attached this MAF CIA adapter to the side of the newly added plate.

*Note: I cut @ 2" off the end of the mid pipe that connects to the air box and reattached it to the newly attached MAF adapter. The mid pipe OD was about 1/4" dia larger than the OD of the MAF adapter. Once epoxied in place I dremeled away the MAF tube that was too small. It is the gray plastic. The mid pipe section is black.*

The Specter 4" flexible intake tubing installed on the mid pipe with a clamp and black silicone.

And now attached with a clamp and black silicone to the new fitting on the air box. I also sealed all holes and pop rivets with silicone:coffee:

Here it is fully assembled

Now when the truck is idleing, I put my ear by the intake scoop and I can hear a swoosh sucking sound. It works:coffeedrink:

cool.:wings:
