It looks like the kind that fits into a 2" receiver hitch. Front or rear.

Maybe that's OK.

You could use it front or rear if you had a receiver hitch both places.

I'm just tryin' to stay away from places I need to be yanked up by a cable!

I love my SWR too much!

Looks like a hell of a deal, with the winch cradle and snatch block thrown in there. I would like to point out that a Class III hitch has a rating of 7,500 pounds, and Class IV is for loads of up to 10,000 pounds. That's straight pulls. Even then, I expect many are rated for rolling loads as opposed to dead weight. Also, you may need a hoist to move that sucker around, or at least a couple burly friends. Something to consider.

The Champion brand has been available at Costco here in Canada for a number of years. Some things you should know:

- Higher current draw then comparable name brands
- The mounting bolt pattern of the 9000 lbs version is different then Warn so modifications may be required to add it to your rig (so check first)
- Won't fit in an ARB (due to bolt pattern mostly, so again check first)
- Great warranty via Sams Club / Costco
- Heavy

For occasional use, it's heavy but decent. For serious use, it would simply not be on the list.

We don't see many serious wheelers using them up here, so I wasn't going to comment on those aspects. The one I saw in operation (hauling logs) was attached to a non-wheeling 3/4 ton pickup and was, for lack of a better word, slow. It was also fairly noisy and drew the batteries down fairly quickly. I attributed this to the stock batteries being used, but a high amp draw could also be the problem.

Still, if you are looking for a very occasionally used winch, it might be an option.

Pull to the Death!

Nice find!

It would be cool to take that winch out and see what it can do!....Breaking point of death....than kill it!:violent-smiley-031:

I wonder how Sam's return rules would work with that?

:D
