Last Sat.........out near Jacumba, CA. (east county san diego)

Running solo can be peaceful and fun.

More time to explore.....think....and reflect. This is a fun, scenic area with forever views! On a clear day, you can see all the way to Yuma, Arizona! No hard core off roading here. Maybe a few steep climbs if you choose to do them. There is a very large area for camping. I would be glad to share this area with the group sometime. Either for a day run, or an overnight with a run down to Anza~Borrego the next morning. Check out the very Kewl rock formations I found!

Hey,

I really need to get out there with you soon. I have to see the old road before I leave here.

The picture with the tree in it is great!

Mark, great pics. Thanks for sharing. I would love to get out there with you one of these days. I am getting a bit of a dirt jones and need to get out again soon. Thanks for posting up, looks like a beautiful spot. I wonder, can the trail still be run on dirt mostly from Yuma to SD? Now that would be a great trip.

Thanks for noticing....Aaron!

I have been searching for old wagon trails in the Southwest like you just mentioned.

The only website I have come up with so far........ shows a trail from Santa Fe to San Diego through Yuma.........and I'm sure it has to include the old trail pic I posted above.

There is also the "Butterfield Stage Route"....which can even be spotted in Anza~Borrego.

Help me find some....and let's do it! Except the problem now is private land and fences.

I'm hoping to do the "Bradshaw Trail" in a few weeks. Check 4WDtrips.net for my trip planning thread.

OK.....your mission.......should you choose to accept it........locate and run the old wagon trail from Santa Fe NM. to San Diego!
(be sure to bring your bolt cutters!.....shuuuuuu!
