Man Ryan, Great write up on an AMAZING weekend. The entire Ward Family sure does know how to show some serious Hospitality!!!
It was cool to meet and explore with some fellow Portal Members. XJBanker (Steve) and another friend of Ryan's that I dont think is a member on here were really great to meet in person.
Here are a few of mine and Cindy's photos from the weekend of Jeeping in The Swell. I dont know all the names of where the photos were taken, Cindy and I were just along for the ride and the conversation
Cindy snapped this one out the windshield while riding with Mrs. Moab on a particular sketchy downhill:Wow1:
Driving back up the Mountain to have a nice lunch break at the summit
Ryan and I were talking about trying to capture a shot like this the entire time, but I dont think shooting out the back window of a Jeep moving around 50mph does it justice, but here's my take on the classic African Safari Convoy
A 25 minute exposure of our campsite long after everyone had gone to bed. I think this was well after 2am
As I stated in my Blog post from this weekend, I think you could spend an entire year in the San Rafael Swell and still not be able to see the entire area. Its beautiful and well worth the trip if you're thinking of it. With guides like Ryan, Steve and Clint, it makes it all that much more enjoyable!
Make sure you bring lots of Water when exploring the Swell
I told Ryan when I snapped this shot that I felt it would be a perfect addition to the Scrolling Slide Show on the Main EXPO Page. Maybe someone will mention it to Scott or one of the other moderators...hint...hint
I think this was one of the hardest Galleries for me to choose images for. If you want to see a ton more stuff from this weekend, make sure you check out the Full Gallery. I wish I could post them all up here on the forum, but it would probably crash the site...LOL
