Schematic Tool?

Anyone know of a decent way to draw schematics? I’m not taking about low-level circuit diagrams, but larger schematics that help know what’s wired to what.

I’m designing a power system for a trailer and I’d like to have something that will help me track down the number of terminals, sizes, types, length of wire, gauges, etc, etc; as well as act as documentation for future troubleshooting.

It would show stuff like Blue Sea fuse panels, batteries, bulkhead mounted connectors, etc.

Thanks,

A.

Digikey has a free online schematic and BOM tool but it of course funnels you to their catalog.

There's other ways to achieve this with schematic capture (KiCAD, Diptrace, etc) but Visio is probably what you're really after. Open source and Linux version would be like Inkscape or Dia.
