Scored new stove from Sear clearance area!

Like many of you I always check the clearance areas in all store I go to. Always amazed at what I find and where...

Last year I was at a local Target store....checking out the clearance end caps, of course. Find these Coleman peak 1 single mantle micro lantern and single burner micro stove. Both 50% off a 50 % off original price - together started at $50 retail down to $25 down to $12.50 for both! Then they had a bunch of the Coleman fuel cans marked down to $1.98 each! I bought everything they had (like 10 cans).

Well, yesterday the family went to the local Sears. I go check out the clearance tool and camping area. Virtually nothing left (empty shelves) except for run-o-the-mill sleeping bags and kiddie tents. Then I see at the end two promising boxes...end up being two 2-burner propane camp stoves. One box was shredded and the stove looked damaged, but I could check it out. The other was still boxed up nicely. Best part? Original price (or over price...)$69.99...marked down to $49.99....marked down to $29.99....get this...marked down to $9.97! Woo Hoo. Couldn't grab it fast enuf! Already had an old camp stove that works great, but for $10? Why not!

Not the smallest or backpack-able stove, but what a deal/steal.

I am jealous! Thanks for sharing though!! I love bargain hunting.

Watch Target too. They'll place stuff at the ends of some isles with a clearance sign above. Double check the tag on the price scanner. I bought a fancy Vector car battery charger that was originally $59.99 (and still is elsewhere).

It was marked $29.99 and when I scanned it it was $14.99!!

NICE!

Target can be a great clearance jack-pot.

While studying I worked at Kmart filling shelves at night, and often had a portable barcode scanner.

One night I happened to scan a portable jump starter, it was only small (no chance of starting a cruiser!) but had a stack of accessory sockets.

Bought it the next day for the princely sum of $0.20!!! (I checked it was OK with the manager, and it was as it had been on the shelf not in the store room)

It's still going well today, and I use it for running fluro lights off of at night :)

My brother works at a store called ******** Smith Electronics, and a little while ago they started to move away from raw electronics and into more consumer electronics. He got a bunch of 120W high quality solar pannels for about $10 each :D He drove all over the city getting them from all the stores who had stock (again it was the normal sell price, and he was buying them in his own time so no problems!)

Got some replacement lantern globes at Target for $2.50 (50% regular price). I bought three. I figured the more I buy, the less the chance that I will break and actually need them.

Stopped by Sears today as well, they had nothing. All the camping stuff was jammed on two shelves and it was mostly sleeping bags and tents.
