Scouting out unmaintained roads in RI and CT

We passed 61 rural cemetaries while transversing VT last year, by rural I mean on 1 lane dirt roads. They are always fascinating. Here Is one I found recently.

Yes they are always fascinating. I love coming across long forgotten graveyards while in the woods. Its always a treat finding stones as early as the 1600's that are still readable or finding stones from soilders who fought in the early American ways.

Check out this creepy place in RI I found last week. Yes, it was that dark! If you look carefully you can see the blue sky through the trees. This place was like stepping onto a Hollywood set of some Zombie movie.

We went again today but the light wasn't on our side when the cameras came out. I have a handful of decent shots but I need to get Phil to blank out his plates.

Beautiful pics, Close enough for us to check it out.:jump:

Let us know if you need help finding some of the roads if you decide to head down there. Not all of them have signs.

Headed back over there for about an hour today. Met up with Superu and happened to stumble across Rhode Trip.

I ran out of the house today with my camera bag and completely forgot I had packed a lot of my gear for Europe on Thursday. These were the best I got.

Thanks Phil

The kids and I had a great time. And thanks for posting up those pics. We headed back out and up Frosty Hollow for a picturesque loop and then back down the Blitzkrieg trail. Came across an area of ice that looks like shattered glass. Tough to tell from this shot, but the ice was crystal clear with nary an air bubble anywhere.
