Sealed tailgate?

MOAK

I finished building my trailer several years ago, and continue to modify it before and after every trip. The kitchen is in the rear of the trailer, undo the tarp, flip it forward, slide the tailgate up and off, and presto, cook stove, dry foods, utensils, etc. I'll soon be in the market for an ARB fridge, mounted on a pull out, and need to figure a way to make a removable, water tight, tailgate. Rain isn't the problem, I'm concerned with high (over 30") water crossings. Any ideas on how to seal up a removable gate? Thanks, this one has me stumped, unless I redesign the entire galley. Thanks!!

Without seeing pictures of the current setup, I'd say a seal around the tailgate perimeter that mates with the body. The tailget is slid back in place, then some over center latches pull the gate tight to the body, forming the seal.

Send a PM to "Woods", not me, the other one! He has lots of seals and gaskets for this sort of thing.
