seat covers that I REALLY like, anyone tried these...

my seats were worn out when I bought my 4runner and I went about 1 1/2 hours north to a salvage yard that promised me they had grey seats with lumbar adjustments which turned out to be seats just like mine with no lumbar adjustments so I just picked up a pair of tan leather seats for the time being. Since then I'v been looking at different options for custom seats, race seats, etc. but I think I might just keep these and go with those covers...we'll see.

I'd like to see them on toyota seats first if possible...

We gave a pair of those away at Crawl 4 Christ in June. The winner said they were great, and he was driving a Toyota with replacement seats. I am not sure if they were Toyota replacements, but he said they fit great.

I just got rid of mine. They were cool at first, and somewhat of a novelty.

Long term, here are my thoughts:

More trouble then they are worth, very poor fitting for 4Runner seats. Some alteration to the mounting would help alot. I was particularly unimpressed by the mounting system for the bottom of the seat, which is a bunch of flimsy bungee cords that are obviously not designed to work with any seat other than a Jeep.

The MOLLE system is very cool, but I would recommend getting seat covers made at an upholstery shop and attach a MOLLE web on the back. This would provide a much better fit. Actually, with only slight alteration, you could adapt a MOLLE vest to fit over a traditional seat cover.

I never found uses for all the little pockets that come with the bags. I would prefer large bags if I were to employ the system again.

These covers took up too much room behind the seats, which was cutting into the dogs area. They are both big, and need the extra 6 inches of wiggle room. Also makes it very difficult for a normal sized people to ride in the back seat.

We needed map pockets for out topos and atlases. So I finally took them off and sold them. I never realized how much I disliked them until they were gone. I think it was the fact that I had wasted $100 on them that endeared me to them... escalation of commitment, etc.

i have one in black. i like it, it fits the seat OK, not great. spectacular storage on it. overall i really like it. i would buy it again if it covered the whole seat.

despite that, im looking to let it be used by someone else. if any one is interested, 50+ shipping. i want to go with something that covers the entire seat.

We had one of the first sets in the Tacoma. Great concept, but insufficient coverage on vehicles other than the YJ/TJ IMO. They never quite fit right.
