Greetings! I am very new to this forum and excited to be here. I had my 2015 F150 XL 2.7l TT (6.5' bed) for a few years now and I am just starting to customize it to my liking.
Last year, I built a wedge-style camper and looking to part ways with it. I use my truck as a daily and it just doesn't make sense having the wedge camper hand ogg the back anymore. This particular design is the GoFastCamper which starts around $8500 and a trip out west for install. The space frame which holds everything together is made out of 1 1/2" 16 Ga square steel tubing. The paneling is made of this material called MaxMetal which is used to make large signs; it's basically composite sandwiched between two pieces of Aluminum. The frame for the wedge is made from excreted slotted aluminum which makes it easy to mount accessories with t-nuts. The tent itself was sewn by my friend and me out of rip-stop and has two side windows (with screens) and a large back window with a screen. There are two LED lights already mounted on the space frame for lighting. There is a power unit that I built out of a 12v car battery with a trickle charger. The total unit weighs between 300 - 350 lbs (I never weighed it so this is a rough estimate). Keep in mind, this is a DIY job so it's not perfect but it works well. I took this thing all over New England in all seasons as well as down South. It's easy to set-up but take a couple strong people to put onto your vehicle. Measurements are as follows and I do have a full materials list for this build.
