Semi-clean Motorola Saber/ Yaesu 8900 install

It took about a week. A few hours here and there. I installed it in a 1987 K5 Blazer. I got some Motorola amplified speakers from a buddy. The speakers are LOUD! Fabbed up a few brackets to bolt the radios into console. I also reinforced the console itself with a few additional heavier duty bolts.

My only two concerns are excessive heat from the Yaesu and excessive vibration from the vehicle itself and offroading.

SPECIAL THANKS to everyone on EXPO for the invaluable assistance. GARY in OHIO in particular and everyone else.

What's the other radio you have there?

The big one: Motorola Saber VHF
The small one: Yaesu 8900

nice set up. this is a newb question but whats that base you have the saber in?

Thank you. That's the SVA/ Convertacom.

What are you using the VHF Saber for? Do they still call that a convertacom?

My buddies have the same thing in their rigs. About 4 or five times a year, we travel down to PVR from PHX. Since we all have the same radios, thats what we use.
