September Fishing Trip

Last week I was able to disappear for 3 days up into the mountains of CO. I had perfect timing as the fishing was good and the weather perfect. Had I waited until this week I would have been snowed on! Anyway here are a few pictures of the trip. I spent time fishing the Middle and South Forks of the South Platte, Blue River, Colorado River and the Williams Fork River. The Colorado and Williams Fork Rivers are fishing really well as the Browns are getting ready to spawn.

Very nice!! I love Colorado and visit every chance I get. Were you fishing nymphs?

Yes. The Williams Fork is best fished with nymphs. The water was running about 150 CFS which is a lot for a river of that size so I had to use a lot of weight to get them down. I caught all the fish on a size 20 Barrs Emerger.

Nice Bergger,

Nothing beats being a good on a stream (or streams) and hooking trout, especially in the fall. My favorite time.
