Shipping a truck camper?

Looking to buy/ship a four wheel camper eagle model and I would need to get it shipped. Anyone have experience shipping a camper? Any recommended shippers?

Thanks

I was thinking about that, just wondering if the shipper would be properly set up to safely haul a camper. Was hoping to find someone that someone else had already used before.

According to my unscientific and highly biased survey of posts, (a.k.a. what I remember from reading) Most people just make a trip out it and fetch them up. Of course Wash. to Ohio is quite a trip.

Uship has been mentioned previously. Google or browse "Freight Broker" and/or "Load Broker". Once you sort through the myriad of How to make a bazillion dollars from home as a freight broker there are legit brokerages and freight companies advertized. If you drive the interstates much some of the names you will recognize. How ever you do it you'll need some basic info like dimensions, weight, where it is, is it accessible by semi, van trailer and so on.

Another avenue to explore are the specialty RV transporters. I mention this as Washington/Oregon/BC and Indiana are RV manufacturing hubs. You may get lucky with one looking to book a back haul or front haul.

Good luck with your quest.

Me personally, I would find some young college kids that I knew, friend of a friend type thing and pay him/her to make the drive. Obviously there is some risk, but the same risk exists with a pro firm, and fighting insurance company's is a long drawn out deal.

Thanks guys, I have a posting up on Uship so I'll see how that goes. Didn't find any luck with the RV shippers, no one wants to touch a camper that's not mounted on a truck.

Around here there are several people who are licensed haulers who advertise boat and rv transport on CL.

We don't ship used campers often, and are not in that area at the moment.

But these are companies we have dealt with in the past in case you want to give em' a call.

Not sure if any or all of these guys are still in business, or not? But probably worth a call.

The good thing is that they know what a truck camper is and can usually transport them safely.
