Alright, just thought I'd post an update. I had the rack fixed and although it fixed some problems there are still others. However after searching some Dodge forums we have found a ton of people with the same issues. The problem is the steering linkage from the steering wheel to the rack. The u-joints aren't able to be lubricated since there are no grease fittings so they wear once the factory grease gets washed off by rain and snow. The maintenance fix would be to lub them every time you change the oil, and I will be from now on, but the shaft needs to be replaced and is something I can do. I'm thrilled to find the solution to my problems.

:coffeedrink: Thats good news! That is a very unusual problem for most vehicles--I thought for sure that it was just the fluid... It's doubtfull, but can you cross reference the size to match a greasable u-joint?

I think every vehicle has quirks. Hopefully you will end up really liking your truck in the long run.
