Can you tell me if the 7" precleaner is safe to run on a 03 tacoma? I have heard in the past that the precleaner's on a Tacomas does not provide enough airflow.

Can you clarify if this is true or not, because I want one!

Too Bad it's not a National Luna 52L Weekender. I would have jumped all over that. This one is just too big to fit in my FJ.

According to ARB it reduces the airflow too much for the Tacoma, but several people run them on the Tacoma's with out issues. Also note that the pre-cleaner has a 3" inlet and the SS170HF has a 3.5" OD tube.

How are the people that are running them, getting them to fit?

Some reverse it, and put it inside the snorkel... and some use reducers to make them fit.

I run a precleaner on the trail and in the snow. I can feel a little decrease in power, but not too bad. Got a 3 in to 3.5 in exhaust adapter for $10 and painted it with black wrinkle finish. Hope that helps some decisions...
