Silverado 3500 (Have Solar, Will Travel)

We have a couple camper trailers, and a dump trailer. All need solar. Our little trailer and the dump, have very littler real estate for panels. So, I got a wild hair. I started with a locking, alumn roll-up cover with T-slots. Then after a couple of different setups, I settled on using some old TracRac crossbars I had and coupled them with some Rhino towers (toolless removal). A 220-286W bifacial panel, a roll of marine 8AWG wire, Anderson connectors (50amp), this, that, and some more. Here we go:

And since we have a trip coming up ("road" trip ;-( ), it was time to remove the hideous fender flares I installed when new and install the mud flaps I bought six years ago. Replaced one peckish looking tire on the pickup and finally tossed those garbage Ranchos that came from the facotry. Bilstein 5100s all around. Rides like new again.

After 6k miles, I can report the solar worked brilliantly. I just have to remember to disconnect the panel from the controller (breaker) before disconnecting the pickup from the camper (otherwise you can mess up the controller).

Nice work!

I'd love to put some panels atop my Leer bed shell. I've got some TracRac up there as well but want to save that for kayaks or whatnot, and mount the panels right onto the shell.
