sizing on Cooper ST's

I've got a line on a deal on a set of Cooper ST's for my 99 4Runner SR5 but the sizes are limited to 245/75/16. I'm used to 265/70/16. Is this size unusual and how might it affect performance? Thanks.

A 245/75-16 is similar in height to, yet slightly more narrow than the 265/70-16, and is actually a more common size. From Cooper's website:

Discoverer ST 245/75-16 -- 30.53"H x 7.45"W (LT rated tire)
Discoverer ST 265/70-16 -- 30.63"H x 10.71"W (P rated tire)

I run the 245/75/16 size for my Blizzak snow tires and 265/70/16 BFG's the rest of the year. No noticeable diff between the two sizes on my '98 4runner.

I run the same setup on two sets of rims, with no complaints, the LT might be a littler stiffer than a P tire.

I ran the LT 245's in ATRs for a couple of years and they were a good size. I wanted to go larger, and stepped up to the 265-75 S/T. Great tires.
