Very impressed with the initial quality/fit and finish.

Beautiful day to work outside. Nothin' like a sun-dappled off-highway vehicle [drool]

Job only took 2 of these. Somewhat involved, but very easy.

Very nice remote with LED indicators, quality hook, and nice shiny roller fairlead with
holes to mount offroad lights.

Wires and corresponding terminals are labeled clearly, and connections have nice rubberized
boots to protect them.

One of the many reasons I chose my logans metal bumper. Clean exit for the cabling. Edges
of holes are deliberately smooth.

Bigdaddy makes sure his girls get a good blend of wrench-time and barbie-time. Sydney
is an excellent helper, already...

The XRC is a great winch and Smittybuilt is a great company to deal with if you have problems. The maintenance that Robert mentions is a good idea. I did not realize this when i first got mine and ended up calling Smitty. They sent out a couple new parts and all is great now. That reminds me I need a new ground wire as i accidentally shredded mine

Does it come with a cover to keep the cardboard from getting soggy when it's mounted to the bumper?

I love my XRC10 and will be doing that grease change-out sometime this summer! So far the only complaint I have is the factory steel cable that came on the winch.

Good choice, check out my XRC Maintenance thread as there are a few issues you might want to correct before you get her mounted:

Have fun with it!

shoot, didn't even think of that. can I pull the parts mentioned to re-grease them while its bolted up to my bumper?

Maybe I'll just let it ride around for a while and pull it off before my next overland trip.

Oh, and I ground terminal/hole on mine didn't seem to have much gunk on it, so I'm good there, but thanks!!!:ylsmoke:

Thats why my cable sits at home and the rope went on :) Soooo much nicer but I need to buy the thicker rope protector.

Bud Lime, eh?

Could never get my taste buds wrapped around that stuff. Been drinking a lot of Stella lately.

thxs!

I'm very much smitten with my bumper. I sticks out a bit further than some designs, but I love the lines and the way it's beveled on the bottom.

Plus its already deflected damage in several "back up into Brian" instances at the grocery store/around san diego...

It bolted up with zero fitment issues, too. I've heard horror stories from owners of several different similar designs...(JCR, etc)

(plus at $300 plus shipping, it's very affordable compared to an ARB)
